The NEW Atlas Customline® Mark V Turnouts are constructed so that regardless of switch point setting, both branches are powered. As a result, this new metal frog is insulated and carries no current. Most locos will span the insulated frog without loss of electrical pickup on the Customline® Turnouts; however, engines of extremely short wheelbase or diesels with single truck pickup may hesitate or stall on the frog. The problem can easily be overcome by equipping turnouts with a separately available snap-relay.
HO Code 100 with black ties and nickel silver rail. Custom-Line Turnouts have metal frogs that can be powered if necessary.
NOTE: A Snap-Switch and a #4 Custom-line Turnout are not interchangeable in Atlas layout plans.
